Dewy Morning Coffee

This is a project I made in Junior Design Studio. In this project I was prompted to create a Keurig brand identity system which included the logo, box, and K-Cup. Along with that I was given one week to complete this entire project. Given the freedom of what I could create for the brand, I wanted to create a product that represented something special to me. With that being said I created a coffee company named Dewy Morning, in honor of my grandfather.

To start off I gathered some ideas for the logo that were able to be easily replicated and simple all while still representing my grandfather. My grandfather owns a camp in Potter County, PA and every summer we would spend time up there. We would relax in peace and quiet, enjoying the outdoors all together as a family. A distinct memory I have at the camp is every morning my grandfather had to have his cup of coffee. You would wake up to the smell of it as it carried through the camp. He then would sit on the porch drinking his cup of coffee reading the newspaper. After being awakened from the smell of coffee I would sit outside with my grandfather and it was so early in the morning there was still dew sitting on the grass. Since this is a memory that is shared with my family and grandfather I somehow wanted to incorporate the memory into a logo.

I then came up with the idea of calling the coffee company Dewy Morning. After establishing the name I took the memory as a whole and identified it with a location; my grandfather's camp. The place where the memory took place. The colors of the camp are white and gray so I incorporated that with a simplified shape of the camp itself. The apple tree next to it is to represent the apple tree that is next to my grandfather's camp. As a whole it gathers a memory and representation of a very important person in my life. For the box I wanted to create a simplistic box and keep a cohesive color combination of red, white, and tones of gray. I used an image of the mountains in Potter County in relation to the camp.

To complete this project I used Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
